Sometimes I want to disappear...into a mosh

I have a little addiction. Like any addiction it empties my bank accounts, keeps me up at night and depletes my body's sustenance. Luckily it isn't heroin! But my drug of choice is music.

Last year I went to my local music venue of unsigned artists religiously every week, sometimes several times in each week. I will say entry fees, drink prices and long taxi's nearly bankrupted me. But it was my vice and to be honest still is.

Most of my Ipod stars I have seen live. I can't compare anything to the thrill of pushing through a crowd to get up and close to your favourite artists, holding your spot and surviving sweating half your body's weight in fluid.

So far I have seen;

The Wombats (twice)
Arctic Monkeys
The Drums
The Vaccines
Grouplove
Kimbra
Cage the Elephant
Foster the People
Kasabian
Ball Park Music
Best Coast
Bleeding Knees Club
Boy and Bear
The Ciarsos
Chicks who Love Guns
Colourfide
Diamants
Dune Rats
The Honey Month
The Jezabels
Little Mind
Millions
Moderns
Oceanics
The Ottomans
Pirates Alive
Step Panther
and quite a few more!

I have quite a long list more I want to see and will no doubt spend stupidly large amounts of money to do so. In January I even went on a trip to Sydney with friends just to see the Drums (^^^). Over a grand just for a beloved band. See it is like heroin. Needless to say I had a lot of fun doing so.

Above is The Vaccines playing at Big Day Out this year, my first festival. It has started a need for festivals that I don't think can be stopped. Come this summer I will attend every I can manage!

And this picture was taking in the most marvellous mosh I have ever been in. The Arctic Monkeys at Riverstage, a beautiful memory I will hold onto forever. Not only did I brave a pushy male dominated mosh for over 6 hours but I made it to the front. The music bounded through my lungs like a new and cosmic heart beat. When it was over I was sad, like a drug come down. The weeks proceeding were like withdrawals and I will one day see them again and dance and sing like the World will end tomorrow.
